Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use MyHorseBets (myhorsebets.com). The site is operated by Westernmost LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 32 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA, which is the controller of any personal data described here. The calculators

Everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser. Stakes, odds and results are worked out on your own device and are never sent to us.

What we collect

• Server logs. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
• Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
• Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address to reply and for our records. We don't use them for marketing.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and calculators are used, which affiliate links are clicked and how many people join the newsletter. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you visit; it does not receive what you type into a calculator. Google acts as our processor. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie settings.

The newsletter

If you sign up to the MyHorseBets newsletter, we store your email address, the date and time you signed up, the page you signed up on, the wording you agreed to, your browser type, your country and a one-way hash of your IP address (used only to stop automated abuse). We then send you one email from info@myhorsebets.com asking you to confirm your address, and you join the list only when you click the link in it; we also record when we sent that email and when you confirmed. If you don't confirm, you won't get the newsletter. We use your email address only to send you the newsletter: tips, racing news and new calculators. It is for adults only: by signing up you confirm you are 18 or over. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to info@myhorsebets.com. We never sell your email address. Sign-ups are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and kept until you unsubscribe; emails are sent from our own mailbox at our email host. When you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so we never email it again.

We don't run advertising trackers, Google Analytics is not linked to any advertising product, and we don't ask you to create an account.

Links to other sites

Some links take you to other websites, including affiliate partners such as ClickBank sellers. Once you leave MyHorseBets, those sites' own privacy policies and cookies apply. See the affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what personal data is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to info@myhorsebets.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK. Apart from newsletter sign-ups, the site itself holds almost no personal data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change too.
