What is a Super Heinz?

A Super Heinz covers seven selections in every combination of two or more: 21 doubles, 35 trebles, 35 four-folds, 21 five-folds, 7 six-folds and 1 seven-fold, 120 bets in all. There are no singles, so you need two winners for a return.

A 10p Super Heinz costs £12 and a £1 one £120. Each way doubles it to 240 bets.

Heinz and Goliath

The same calculator covers the smaller and bigger versions. A Heinz is six selections and 57 bets (15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 four-folds, 6 five-folds, 1 six-fold). A Goliath is eight selections and 247 bets. Switch the bet type above the selections.

Using the calculator

Pick Per bet to type the unit stake (what most betting slips ask for), or Total to type what you want to spend and let the calculator split it. An each way bet is two bets per line, so it costs double.

Mark each selection as Won, Placed (each way only), Lost or Void. A void (non-runner) is settled at odds of 1.0, so the bet carries on as a smaller bet. Open Rule 4 / dead heat on a row to apply a deduction or a dead heat to that selection.

Frequently asked questions

Seven selections combined into 120 bets: 21 doubles, 35 trebles, 35 four-folds, 21 five-folds, 7 six-folds and one seven-fold.

Each of the 120 bets is stake times the decimal odds of its selections multiplied together, and the winnings are the sum of every bet whose selections all won. With four winners, for example, 11 of the 120 bets pay (6 doubles, 4 trebles and a four-fold). The calculator lists every one under See every bet.

Two for any return, because a Heinz has no singles. Whether that is a profit depends on the odds: with 57 bets staked, two winners usually need big prices.

A Lucky 63 is a Heinz plus six singles: six more units of stake for a return on a single winner. Neither is better in value terms; it depends whether you want that single-winner cover.

They give a lot of combinations for a small unit stake, but most of the 120 bets need three or more winners, so the bet usually loses unless several selections come in. Run your likely scenarios through the calculator first.
